About the role
The Production Team – 2IC is a Full-time position, based at Yarraville, Victoria. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you'll be part of a team that are responsible for manufacturing high quality plaster products safely.
In this role you will:
- Assist the Production Supervisor in overseeing day-to-day production operations.
- Supervise and support the production team to ensure high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency are met.
- Provide hands-on leadership to production staff, ensuring alignment with company goals and policies.
- Train and mentor new and existing production staff, ensuring they are equipped with the appropriate skills and knowledge.
- Identify and resolve production issues, working closely with the team to improve processes.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, quality, and staff training.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team input on operational processes.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production processes and manufacturing systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and train a diverse team.
- Strong work ethic with proven problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in training and developing staff is highly desirable.
- Forklift license is desirable.
