About the role

The Mechanical Fitter (Afternoon shift roster) role is a Full-time position, based at Wantirna South, Victoria. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager at our manufacturing site, you will be working Monday to Friday on the afternoon roster (2pm-10pm) assisting with general maintenance and breakdown work.

Ideally, the successful applicant will be required to have a manufacturing or Building background, Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate or Boilermaker Certificate, have good attendance and have a strong awareness and regard for health, safety and the environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete planned maintenance tasks.
• Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs.
• General machining
• Complete repairs or modifications as requested by your Supervisor.
• Mechanical Fitting, maintenance related to conveyors, strappers,Kiln rails, extruder,bricks handling machinery ,conveyors, bearings rollers etc.
• Fabrication-Simple stick and MiG welding
• Competence in Welding
• Machine tools - Occasional use of milling machine, lathe and pedestal drill.
• Exposure to Hydraulics
• Strong Safety standards. Conversant in Take 2, JSEA Safety tools.
• Maintain safe work & operating practices; and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
