The Opportunity:

As a market leader in the construction materials industry, our products are trusted by architects, designers, and developers across Australia. We're currently seeking a driven and customer-focused Specification Manager to join our high-performing team and take ownership of project-based sales across key market segments in Victoria.
In this pivotal role, you will act as a trusted partner to the architectural and design community, promoting our full product portfolio through proactive engagement and strategic specification. Your mission is to drive sales growth, influence project outcomes, and ensure long-term customer satisfaction by delivering expert technical support, tailored solutions, and outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and nurture relationships with architects, designers, consultants, and other key decision-makers to ensure products are specified in project plans.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase specification sales and grow market share.
- Deliver compelling product presentations that highlight unique value propositions and competitive advantages.
- Support the design and delivery of tailored solutions that meet specific project and customer needs.
- Track and manage specifications through the project lifecycle to ensure conversion to sales.
- Collaborate with internal teams—marketing, logistics, and customer service—to ensure smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed and accurate CRM records of customer activity, project status, and forecasting data.
- Stay ahead of market trends and competitor activity to uncover new opportunities and drive innovation.
About You
You are a consultative, relationship-driven professional with a passion for design and construction. Your commercial mindset and technical knowledge enable you to deliver value at every stage of the project journey.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in architectural specification or B2B technical sales, preferably within the construction or building materials industry.
- A formal qualification in Architecture, Design, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of project lifecycles, technical specification, and the National Construction Code (BCA/NCC).
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and competitor products.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, Excel, and digital platforms.
- A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with a drive to exceed customer expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally.
