The Opportunity
The Shift Electrician role is a full-time position, based at our in our Gyprock manufacturing site in Coopers Plains, QLD. You will be working on a Rotating shift Monday to Friday - Morning (6am-2.06pm) and afternoon (2.00pm-10.06pm). Saturday's shifts will be at overtime rates.
You will be working closely with an experienced engineering group you will maintain and optimise electrical and automation assets.
Duties & Responsibilities
Your duties and responsibilities will be varied but will include:
- Champion a safety-first culture within the factory in pursuit of a zero-harm environment ensuring to Never Walk Past.
- Work closely with the engineering team to implement the plant maintenance and improvement strategy.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting to limit downtime and improve the operational effectiveness of plant equipment including predictive and preventative maintenance measures.
- Provide the ‘first point of call' for technical issues in the plant.
- Coordinate all aspects of maintenance within your assigned work area, including supply of spare parts and organising of external contractors as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- A technical background with an Electrical qualification (Licence, Certificate or Degree)
- Experience with PLC (Allen Bradley or similar) systems would be a definite advantage.
- A mechanical aptitude and interest.
- Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and respond to breakdowns in an industrial environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills and a high level of commitment to work effectively in a multi-skilled team environment.
- A hands-on attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
